Meet Our Leadership Team

Chapel Hill is currently guided by four elders, seven deacons, our preacher, and our youth minister. These men provide guidance to our congregation to help us make an impact in our community and around the world through the love of Jesus Christ. Learn a little about them here.

Currently, he serves as Camp Director for Midsummer Bible Camp and is on the board of directors for Camp Leatherwood.

Jon Southerland

At a very early age, Jon was inspired by worship leaders from several area congregations, including some from Chapel Hill.  At the age of 12, he began training as a song leader and spent many years honing his vocal abilities under the tutelage of several skilled song leaders and vocal instructors.  He loves singing praises to God with other Christians and hopes to foster a spirit of praise in each worship service. Jon has written several children’s church songs and especially loves singing VBS songs with kids.  Over the years, he has served as a worship leader, youth minister, camp counselor, Deacon and Bible class teacher.  Jon and his family came to Chapel Hill in the fall of 2016 where he began serving as a regular song leader for the congregation and a Bible class teacher.   He and his wife Jessica were married in 2005 and they have three boys, Ian, Lucas and Oliver.
